Skoda Superb

Although the name may seem a little presumptuous, it is the only word to describe this elegant, spacious and luxurious car. The original Superb was developed by Skoda back in the 1930's and was designed for the lifestyles of dignitaries, world leaders and even royalty - a car which was designed to be luxurious and elegant from both inside and out.

The new Superb has been built with the same commitment to luxury and elegance as its predecessors whilst also embracing the needs of modern drivers: affordability, efficiency, safety and technology. This commitment has resulted in one of the most complete and attainable luxury cars on sale today. Testament to this came at the Top Gear Awards 2009 when the Skoda Superb was named as Luxury Car of the Year.

The Superb epitomises the Skoda design philosophy, which is to create cars that allow its drivers to have the best of both, internally and externally. Internally Skoda cars are completed with world class engines, smooth transmissions and high specifications. Externally Skoda cars are designed with practical bodies that are both distinctive and elegant.

The Superb is now available in saloon or estate and both come in a variety of petrol and diesel engines. The range starts with the entry level ‘S' trim, then ‘SE', then onto the top trim level, ‘Elegance'. If you want to have the extra feeling of stability that comes from 4x4, then the Superb offers it in some of its petrol and diesel engine cars. The Superb range also includes the economical GreenLine derivative which has emissions of just 129g/km and proves that luxury need not cost the earth.

When you first sit inside a Superb, you are overwhelmed by the feeling of space. Both driver and passengers can enjoy space and legroom which is not seen in many prestige chauffer cars and rear passengers can experience legroom that even surpasses some of the Superb's more expensive competitors like the S Class Mercedes. 2010 sees the arrival of the Superb Estate, which builds on the success of its award winning saloon counterpart to become what is Skoda's largest and most luxurious car.

The Superb is also peppered with ground breaking technology and design features which will delight, even the most ‘techy' among us. For example, the Superb was the first ever car to have boot which could be opened as a hatch or a saloon and one of the first cars in the UK to offer park assist technology. The Superb was also the first car in the Skoda range to embrace touch screen technology, which allows the driver to control features from within the car and displaying important vehicle information, such as the parking sensors, heated seats and external temperatures. This technology also reduces the amount of physical buttons on the Superb's dashboard, which makes for a clean and uncomplicated display.
